SKUAST-J organizes lecture on ‘Infectious Diseases & Agriculture’

JAMMU, Apr 1: In continuation to series of lectures, NSS SKUAST-Jammu in collaboration with Health Centre organized a sensitization programme for NSS students of Faculty of Agriculture for prevention and control of infectious diseases.
On the occasion, Dr Parveen Yograj, ex Medical Superintendent of District Hospital Gandhi Nagar was the invited speaker. He gave an impressive lecture on the topic, ‘Infectious Diseases and Agriculture’ and made the students aware about various possible causes and symptoms of such diseases.
On the outset, Prof Sudhakar Dwivedi threw light on the risk of infectious disease in agriculture particularly in Indian context. He also spoke on the significance of the awareness about preventive measures of such diseases and role of young NSS volunteers to control diseases.
A student interaction session was also organised. The programme was organised by Dean Students’ Welfare and team of NSS instructors of Faculty of Agriculture and Health Centre. A large number of students and staff attended the programme.
Those present in the programme included Dr Anil Gupta, Medical officer, Dr Subhash C Kashyap NSS Coordinator, Dr Arvinder Singh, Dr Sushmita, Dr Balbir Dhotra and Dr Rakesh Sharma NSS Programme Officers. The programme ended with vote of thanks by Dr Subhash C Kashyap.
