JAMMU: The workers of Dogra Front & Shiv Sena (DFSS), under leadership of their President, Ashok Gupta held a protest demonstration against Department of Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs (FCS&CA) for causing trouble to common man.
Speaking on the occasion, Ashok Gupta said that the Government has assigned a ration quota of 5 Kg for BPL persons but ration dealers are giving just 3.80 Kg to people, causing hardships for poor people.
He further stated that such ration supply is for people who cannot afford to buy ration on market prices, but ration dealers are supplying less ration and charging Rs 4 per Kg from them against a price of Rs 3 per Kg, which has been fixed by the Central Government.
Highlighting plight of ration dealers who are fully dependent on the commission provided by CAPD, Ashok Gupta said that they have not been provided commission from past 6 months by the Department, thereby making their lives miserable.
“Prime Minister Narendra Modi is leaving no stone unturned to make sure that during these hard times, nobody sleeps hungry and for that purpose, he has ordered for supplying ration and the same is being implemented by the LG’s administration in J&K but there are some people at lower level, working in CAPD, who are trying to fail the scheme,” said Gupta, urging LG to book all such elements so that poor people don’t suffer anymore.
Those present on the protest included Deepu, Raj, Sham, Parveen, Prem, Kalu, Naresh and Bantu.
