JAMMU: With a motive of promoting plantation of Peepal tree and highlighting it’s exceptional medicinal and religious properties, Peepal Plantation Drive organised by Peepal Saves People Foundation Trust (PSPFT) in association with Go Green Club at Upper Roop Nagar, here on Tuesday. During the drive, Rekha Manhas (Corporator Ward 62), Mohan Lal (Senior Superintendent of Police) and Sunil Dutt (Senior Superintendent of Police Retd.) planted Peepal saplings in Upper Roop Nagar and it’s adjoining areas. Elaborating the importance of the Peepal tree, they said that since ages the Peepal tree have its own importance spiritually and environmentally. They said that the plantation is only weapon can counter the present crisis of corona.
Mention about the importance of planting Peepal tree, the Founder President of Peeple Saves People Foundation Trust, Pritam Singh said that he was influenced by Peepal tree as it emits oxygen throughout day & night while absorbing carbon dioxide which is harmful for all living beings.
B.L Anand, Bhoop Chand Sharma, Manoj Sharma, Vikas Sharma, Rajesh Gupta, Rajiv Gupta, Raj Kumar Dutta, Vijay Dogra, Rohit Prasher, Kewal Krishan Sharma were also present during the drive.
