JAMMU: Police on Saturday arrested a notorious bike-lifter and recovered a stolen bike.
As per details, a written complaint was lodged at Police Post Pouni Chak regarding bike theft in the area. On this, FIR No. 189/2021 under section 379 of IPC was registered at Police Station Domana and investigation started.
Special teams of Police Post Pouni Chak under the supervision of SDPO City Domana Kousheen Koul were constituted. A team led by SHO Domana Insp Mahesh Sharma assisted by Incharge Police Post Pouni Chak SI Dilawar Kumar after stern efforts and help of technical assistance rounded up a suspect namely Murad Ali, son of Bashir Ahmed, resident of Thub Sandwan. During sustained questioning, the accused confessed his involvement in the theft and on his disclosure, stolen bike (JK02CP- 6973) was recovered by police.
