BATOTE: Police on Saturday solved a Masjid theft case within a week and arrested three persons.
As per details, on August 3, 2021, Naib Imam Jamia Masjid Batote namely Mudassir Ali, son of Mohd Shareef Mir, resident of Gandoh, Doda lodged a written complaint at Police Station Batote stating that some unknown persons have stolen approximately Rs 30,000 from donation box (Saif) of Jamia Masjid Batote. In this connection, FIR No. 81/ 2021 under sections 457/380 of IPC was registered and investigation started.
During the course of investigation many suspects were rounded up and questioned. On August 7, three persons were found roaming in suspicious conditions and were arrested by a patrolling party of Police Station Batote from Mir Mohalla Batote and were interrogated, during which they confessed their involvement in the theft. From their possession, stolen coins amounting to Rs 341 were also recovered.
The accused were identified as Muzafar Ahmed (19), son of Bashir Ahmed, resident of Rajgarh; Nasir Ahmed (21), son of Mohd Abhraim, resident of Boonbari Batote and Raju, son of Prem Bhadar, resident of Bhaghu Nallah, Batote. The investigation is at initial stage and involvements of more suspects cannot be ruled out. The arrests were made under the supervision of SHO Domana Insp Ranjeet Singh Rao.
