Budgam: Police on Saturday arrested 12 persons and seized 12 vehicles involved in illegal excavation & transportation of minerals.
As per details, a party of Police Post Soibugh at a checkpoint established at Main Chowk Soibugh intercepted and seized 12 tippers bearing registration numbers JKO1AJ-3341, JK04B-1587, JK01K-1749, JK02AD-8247, JK01R-6744, JK02X-9359, JK04A-4016, JK01F-9165, JK01F-9413, JK03B-9901, JK01V-5525 & JK01AB-4616. Twelve (12) persons identified as Amir Ashraf Malla, resident of Shilwat; Zahoor Ahmad Sheikh, resident of Tengpora; Tariq Ahmad Bhat, resident of Haji Bagh; Ishfaq Ahmad Dar, resident of Cheewa; Imran Hussain Dar, resident of HMT; Waseem Rashid Khan, resident of Parimpora; Abid Hussain Mir, resident of Bemina; Mehraaj Din Sofi, resident of Haji Bagh; Showkat Ahmad Shah, resident of Haji Bagh; Arif Hussain Wani, resident of Beerwah; Ajaz Ahmad Dar, resident of Tengpora and Ishfaaq Ahmad Khan, resident of Gariend Kalan were also arrested by Police for their involvement in crime. FIR No 361/2021 under relevant sections of law was registered at Police Station Budgam and investigation started.
