PAU Experts visit Bharakh village, guides farmers on modern technologies

REASI: A team of experts of Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) led by Dr.Paramjit Kaur, Acarologist visited at Bharakh village in Pouni block of Reasi Distt under All India Network Project on Agriculture Acarology(ICAR), SERB, DST, Govt. of India and guided farmers on modern technologies.
The team also did surveillance and collected mites particularly predatory mites from various agri.-horticultural crops for further research work. The PAU team was accompanied by Dr. Banarsi Lal, Scientist & Head of KVK, Reasi of SKUAST-J who apprised the team the major achievements of KVK in the area. The scientists visited the fields of progressive farmers, S.Gurdev Singh and S.Harjeet Singh and guided them on the management of insect-pests and diseases in fruits and vegetables. They also discussed on beneficial insects.
The team appreciated the efforts of farmers especially on medicinal and aromatic and horticultural crops. They applauded the efforts of farmers on natural farming and organic honey production. The progressive farmers also shared their experiences with the scientists and also discussed their field problems with the scientists. The visit was assisted by Manohar Lal of KVK, Reasi.
