Waqf properties enjoying statutory protection cannot be encroached upon in any manner whatsoever and in that connection, any such encroachments are liable to be removed by the authorities. In Jammu and Kashmir, Revenue Department having set a deadline of one month for completion of the exercise of demarcation and verification of these properties is in response to many properties being without such demarcations hence a ground suitably favourable for encroachers . Digitization and geo-tagging are the latest modes of identifying and demarcating properties . In this connection, all such Waqfproperties are to be identified by the Tehsildar in association with the representative of Waqf Kashmir and Special Officer Auqaf. Deputy Commissioners are to monitor such demarcations and identifications and submit reports. These measures will smoothly pave way for removing encroachments on Waqf properties.
